This is the last painting of the year that embodies 2020 for me. A year when everything was falling apart but at the same time being held together by an unspeakable force. Some days it felt like a global flood and another time - like the biggest gift of it all. As I was working on this piece with the colors I made from the rocks gathered on my favorite beach or in faraway lands by someone else, every stroke felt like a relief; every wash made my heart feel lighter. I’m not a big fan of new year's resolutions and big promises; I’ve learned that being gentle and loving to myself changes and fuels everything; self-love moves mountains and allows me to love and give, and embrace.
