This piece is an ode to a gift that feels rare these days: the gift of active listening.

It was inspired by a heated argument with a friend—one that never turned into a fire. Instead of shutting down or pushing back, she kept her heart wide open and truly heard me. Her openness invited me to do the same. Her love reminded me that I am held, even when things feel messy.

So here I am, painting what I want to cultivate more of in my life: active listening to myself, the people I love, and the world around me.
